Northern Virginia Paintball

We’ve had to cancel our May game since, to date, there were only a total of 6 people confirmed to come, which was not enough for me to want to shell out a deposit for a private game only to potentially cancel it late next week.

Hopefully we’ll be able to get our game on late-June and have a few night games this summer.  If you’re itching to play check out Hogback’s website for their Big Game Announcements.

Final Update: Paintball for this weekend has been canceled!  The threat of rain scared off enough people to not allow us to have the adequate amount of folks to play. 

We’ll see you all mid-May, stay tuned for an updated date and evite for next month.

Currently we have NINE folks signed up for tomorrow’s game.  Hogback requires a minimum of 8 players for a private game, so I am trying to confirm with everyone that they WILL be there tomorrow.  If not, we may end up calling the game.  Please check back later today to see if the game is still on!

If you don’t hear otherwise, we’ll plan on meeting you at Hogback at 12:30pm tomorrow.  We’re expected to get some rain tomorrow, but the plan is to play rain or shine, I think 80% of the time when we play it’s supposed to rain and not once in the past 2+ years we’ve been playing have we ever been rained on.

Hopefully we’ll see you tomorrow!

We had the largest group to date come out yesterday with over 30 people! Thank you to everyone who came out and played with us!

Details:

On his way back to the North Pole, Santa crashes his sleigh, spreading gifts all over the fields of Hogback Mountain Paintball.  The Grinch gets word of the crash and he is on his way to collect all of the gifts and thus ruin Christmas.  It is up to Santa and his team of elves to find the gifts first and fight off the Grinch and his minions.

Check in: 8:30am

Game Ends: 5:00pm

Tickets are $15 or $20 at the gate on the 29th.

Field Paint Only - $15 for 500.

Thank you to Sandra for arranging and setting up the October 13th paintball game at Hogback Mountain that Brad and I missed (we couldn’t resist catching the Legwarmers show at the City of Fairfax Fall Festival for Free - what’s better than 80’s music!?)

Big Game

September 9th, 2007

 Se-up starts at 8:30am, Briefing is at 10:00am

1 hour lunch in the middle

Game ends at 5:00pm

There will be timed missions, reckless bombings, hostage situations and top secret missions.  Counter strike forces must out-think and out-maneuver the mercenaries in order to avoid world wide destruction. 
Purchase your ticket by September 2nd, 2007 for only $10!  Tickets can be purchased online through PayPal by going to www.hogback.net and clicking on the “Products” tab.  You may also call and order your ticket at 703-777-0057.

Prizes:  Paintball Suppliers have given out a wealth of prizes to hand out to lucky Hogback Players.  They include:  electronic markers, packs, jerseys, player passes, paintball bags, etc.

Players must purchase paintball from the field on the day of the Big Game.

Paintballs are $15.00 per 500

Tickets are $15.00 after September 2nd, 2007 and $20 at the Gate.

Rental Equipment is only $15.00

Thanks to everyone who braved the heat to come out and play yesterday at Hogback! I apologize for not having any pics to share with everyone - I’ll make sure to have some after next game.

Thanks also to all the new folks, whether they were new to paintball or new to our group, for coming out. Ten out of the fourteen of us were new to our monthly game so it was great to see so many new faces! Make sure to check the sidebar for our August “Honorable Mentions.”

Regarding this being one of our last games for the season…looks like we might just scrap that idea and continue playing every month until we can’t get enough people to play. We’re also contemplating trying out a night game in October (around Halloween time, of course), if anyone is interested in that.
