Paintballers vs. Fireworks

I saw this video and had to post it for the 4th of July.  :) (Not that I’m encouraging anyone to try this…even though it does look dangerously fun.)  ;)

Have a Happy (and safe) 4th!

Memorial Day

Copyright JPool 2007I had to post another non-paintball related post for Memorial Day. Coming from a military family, being a “former” Marine and having a sister and brother-in-law currently serving in the Army (not to mention countless friends in the different services) Memorial Day, for me, is not just about being the day that the pool opens, or having a day off of work to BBQ and spend time with friends.

I hope everyone can take a minute from splashing around in the pool, grilling hot dogs outside, or licking drippy ice-cream cones to think about the reason for the day. 3pm on Memorial Day has been designated as a moment (and just a moment - 1 minute total) of remembrance to honor all those that have died for our freedom.

Click the this link to find out more about the Moment of Remembrance, or click here to go to Remember.gov or here to find out how to observe Memorial Day.

I want to thank all those that have served, and are currently serving in the military, including:

Army: my dad, my sister, my brother-in-law

Marine Corps: Amy, Pat, Chris

Navy: Tony, Todd, Dave, Bryan

Air Force: my grandfather, Matt, Mary

…and so many more! Thank you!

Semper Fi,

-Jen

Armed Forces Day - A Quick Thank You

I wanted to take a break from all the paintball chatter to sincerely THANK all of our veterans for the sacrifices and danger they put themselves in for all of our sakes. I also want to thank all of the men and women who are currently deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan, South Korea, etc. and whom are in harms way today.

I want to recognize both my little sister, and her husband John (both Captains in the Army) for all that they do. My sister is currently deployed, and John will be deploying in the next couple months. (This is a picture of them when they took a day on their R&R, right before Danielle deployed, to spend with us playing paintball in August at Skyline. That’s dedication. :) ) Thank you guys for all that you do!

If you’re one of our “regulars” each month and have a friend or family member currently serving overseas (or if you’re currently serving in the military), please leave a comment to let us know & we will recognize you and them on our Memorial Day Post.
